Our commitment
TamilTech (tamiltech.in) and the TamilTech mobile app aim to provide an inclusive experience for Tamil- and English-speaking readers, including people who use keyboards, screen readers, larger text, and reduced motion.
Conformance status
We are actively improving toward WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Core journeys (home, search, articles, authentication, navigation) have been remediated for landmarks, keyboard access, form errors, image alternatives, and mobile control labels. We do not yet claim full site-wide AA conformance; residual work includes broader colour-token audits and device-based assistive technology testing.
Measures we take
- Skip link and main content landmark on website pages
- Visible focus styles and reduced-motion support
- Keyboard-open menus (language, news, topics, account)
- Form error summaries with aria-invalid and aria-describedby on auth forms
- Live region announcements for Livewire updates and flash messages
- Meaningful image alt text on public article surfaces
- Flutter tooltips / semantics on icon actions; labelled phone OTP fields
Known limitations
- Some third-party embeds (ads, social widgets, payment iframes) may not fully meet AA
- Legacy admin tools are not in scope for public accessibility guarantees
- Featured video embeds may lack captions when sources do not provide them
Compatibility
Website is designed for current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. Mobile app targets current Android and iOS releases with TalkBack and VoiceOver.
Feedback
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please contact us. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
Assessment approach
Remediation is driven by code review against WCAG 2.1, automated marker smoke checks on key routes, and manual keyboard testing. Device AT (NVDA, TalkBack, VoiceOver) testing continues as part of release readiness.
Run public route smoke checks any time:

For captions on featured videos: YouTube/Vimeo show the player’s CC control when the source has caption tracks. Self-hosted uploads support optional WebVTT via the video player component.
