FAQ

How often is a TNEB domestic bill raised?

Every two months. Enter the units for the whole two-month period, as printed on your bill.

How many units are free?

If you use 500 units or less in two months, the first 200 are free. Above 500, only the first 100 are free.

Why does the bill jump after 500 units?

At 501 units a different slab table applies: free units drop from 200 to 100 and rates from ₹8.40 upward kick in. So 500 units cost ₹1,570 but 501 units cost ₹2,048.40.

Will this match my bill exactly?

It estimates the energy charge only. A rate revision, deposit or arrears can change the amount on your bill, so check the slab table printed on it.
