When AMD's AI Director Stella Laurenzo sat down to analyze her team's experience with Claude Code, she probably expected to find a few rough edges. What she found instead was a systematic degradation of the tool that millions of developers trust with their code every day.
The numbers are damning:
- 6,852 Claude Code sessions analyzed
- 234,760 tool calls reviewed
- 17,871 thinking blocks examined
- Time period: January through early April 2026
This isn't an angry blog post from a frustrated user. This is an enterprise-scale analysis from one of the world's largest semiconductor companies, using real production data to prove that Claude Code has gotten measurably worse over time.
