Samsung's oldest problem is back — and this year it's worse
Every year, Samsung releases three Galaxy S phones. The Ultra is the clear flagship — no compromises, best cameras, highest price. The base model is the compact choice — smaller screen, lower price, still flagship performance. And then there's the Plus. The Plus is supposed to be the sweet spot: bigger screen than the base, more affordable than the Ultra.
In 2026, the Plus has lost that argument completely. After spending two weeks with both the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Plus, TamilTech's verdict is straightforward: buy the S26, skip the S26 Plus. Here's why — and why this actually matters for Indian buyers who are being asked to pay significantly more for a phone that doesn't justify the gap.
Design: identical, and that's becoming a real problem
The Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus look almost exactly like the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus. Samsung's big design change for 2026 is that the rear cameras are now on a unified camera island — a raised rectangular module housing all three lenses together, similar to what Samsung uses on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. It looks cleaner than the previous floating lens design.
