Your phone remembers everything — and shares it
Every time you use your Android phone, data is being collected. Not just by the apps you install — by Android itself, for Google. It's been this way for years, and most people have no idea how extensive the list actually is.
Google does make this data accessible — you can see it, download it, and delete it — but the settings to control it are scattered across multiple menus and web portals. Nothing is turned off by default. Unless you deliberately go looking for these settings and change them, your phone is logging everything and keeping that data for up to 36 months.
Let's go through everything that's being collected, where it lives, and what you can do about it.
