Windows 12 Release Date, Features, Requirements & India Price — Complete Guide 2026

TamilTech AI summary

Hey, Microsoft still has not officially announced Windows 12 as of February 2026, so release timing, features, and requirements are only coming from rumors and leaks about an AI-first OS with a floating taskbar and modular architecture that might land in late 2026 or early 2027. This matters for Indian users because common budget laptops with 4th–7th gen CPUs, 4GB RAM, no TPM 2.0, or HDD-only storage will not run it—you need roughly 8th-gen or newer, 8GB+ RAM, TPM 2.0, and an SSD. Windows 10 support already ended on October 14, 2025, so those PCs no longer get security updates and users should move to Windows 11 for free if the hardware allows, or buy a new Windows 11 / Copilot+ laptop from about ₹49,000 that is expected to get a free Windows 12 upgrade later. Copilot already works in Tamil and other Indian languages, and Copilot+ models are sold at places like Amazon, Croma, and Reliance Digital. The practical advice is to get a capable Windows 11 machine now rather than wait, because Windows 12 is still unconfirmed and brand-new OS releases often need time to stabilize.
