Three flagships dropped at the same time — here's what's worth buying
This doesn't happen often. Usually phone deals trickle in one at a time, one brand at a time. This week Samsung, OnePlus, and Google all moved on pricing simultaneously — and two of the three represent genuinely good value at current prices.
If you've been sitting on a phone upgrade decision, this week's pricing is worth acting on. Let's go through each one.
Samsung Galaxy S25 FE — Best price since launch
The Galaxy S25 FE has finally reached a price point where it makes sense as an alternative to the A-series. In India, the 256GB 8GB RAM variant is currently available at ₹56,999 and the 256GB 12GB RAM version at ₹62,499. In the US it dropped to $590 for the 128GB model — the lowest it's been since launch.
Here's why the S25 FE is worth paying attention to right now: it's sitting in a genuinely interesting position against Samsung's own lineup. The Galaxy A57, which launched this week at ₹56,999 for the base variant, is technically newer — but the S25 FE beats it on almost everything except price.
The S25 FE has an LTPO display (1-120Hz adaptive) versus the A57's fixed-rate panel. The S25 FE runs the Exynos 2400 — a flagship-class chip — versus the A57's Exynos 1680. The S25 FE has a dedicated telephoto camera at 8MP 3x/75mm, which the A57 doesn't have. The S25 FE supports wireless charging for its 4,900mAh battery alongside 45W wired charging. The A57 is wired-only at 45W.
For anyone deciding between the A57 and S25 FE at similar prices: the S25 FE is the smarter buy. You're getting near-flagship performance, a better display, wireless charging, and a proper telephoto lens for comparable money. The A57 is slimmer and lighter (6.9mm, 179g vs the FE's chunkier build) and has IP68 vs the FE's IP67 — if those physical differences matter to you, they might justify the A-series choice. For most people, they don't.
OnePlus 15R — ₹4,200 drop, 7,400mAh battery at a solid price
The OnePlus 15R has been one of the better value propositions in the mid-flagship space, and this week it got its first price drop since launch — $50 off in the US, bringing the 12/256GB variant to $650 (approximately ₹54,000). Watch for this reflecting in Indian pricing on Flipkart and Amazon India over the coming weeks.
What makes the 15R worth the attention: it runs Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 — a genuine flagship chip — and has a 7,400mAh battery with 80W charging. That combination of top-tier processor and massive battery is unusual. The 6.83-inch 1272p+ 165Hz display supports Dolby Vision, and while it's not LTPO (no adaptive refresh), 165Hz is still smooth for gaming.
The one real compromise: no telephoto lens. The 15R has a primary and ultrawide but no zoom, unlike the flagship OnePlus 15. If you shoot photos at distance regularly, this matters. If you use your phone for gaming, video, and everyday photography, the 15R's battery-and-performance combination is hard to beat at this price.
The 12/512GB variant dropped to $750 — about ₹62,500. If you shoot a lot of video or download games offline, the storage bump is worth the extra.
OnePlus 15 — Flagship specs, first real discount
The OnePlus 15 flagship — Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 6.78-inch LTPO display (1-165Hz), full triple camera setup with telephoto — has been holding at full price since launch. This week it finally got discounted for the first time.
The OnePlus 15 is the complete package: you get the LTPO adaptive display, the top Snapdragon chip, and the telephoto lens that the 15R lacks. If you're spending flagship money and want no compromises, the 15 is the right call. The 15R exists for people who prioritise battery and performance but can live without a zoom camera.
In India, the OnePlus 15 is available on OnePlus's website and Flipkart. If you've been waiting for a price movement, this week is the moment.
Google Pixel 10 — Largest price cut since launch
The Pixel 10 had a significant drop this week. In the US it's down to $549 from its $799 launch price — a $250 cut. The Pixel 10 Pro dropped to $749 from $999. These are the lowest prices either phone has hit since launching.
The Pixel 10 is Google's standard flagship — clean Android 16, seven years of OS updates, Google Tensor G5 processor, and the best computational photography in any Android phone for most users. The camera system remains unmatched for natural daylight photos and particularly strong at portrait mode and night photography.
In India, Pixel 10 pricing runs around ₹79,999 for the base model. With the US discount indicating a price movement, keep an eye on Flipkart's Big Billion Days preview sales and Amazon India's spring deals for a potential Indian price drop. Google typically aligns global pricing after major US discounts.
The Pixel 10 Pro at ₹99,999 in India competes directly with the Samsung Galaxy S26 and iPhone 16. At full price, the choice between them is genuinely close. At a discount, the Pixel 10 Pro's camera quality and seven years of clean Android updates make it very compelling for professionals and photographers.
Who should buy what — TamilTech's honest take
If your budget is ₹55,000-₹65,000: Galaxy S25 FE is the smartest pick right now. Better chip than the A57, LTPO display, wireless charging, telephoto — and it's at its best price. Don't let Samsung confuse you with the new A57 launch at a similar price. The FE wins.
If your budget is ₹50,000-₹60,000 and you play games or care about battery: OnePlus 15R. 7,400mAh battery with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is genuinely exceptional. Just accept no telephoto.
If your budget is ₹65,000-₹80,000 and you want the complete package: OnePlus 15. Everything the 15R has plus LTPO display and telephoto. First discount just hit — good time to buy.
If you want the best Android camera and cleanest software, and ₹80,000 is okay: wait and watch Pixel 10 pricing on Flipkart and Amazon India. The US price drop often precedes Indian discounts by 2-4 weeks.
One thing to flag: Samsung Galaxy A57 and A37 are available for pre-order at ₹56,999 and ₹41,999 respectively, launching April 9. If you specifically want the latest A-series with IP68 and the slimmer build, pre-ordering makes sense. But if pure value is the goal, the S25 FE at current pricing beats the A57 at the same price on almost every spec.
